How to have the best time on a girls’ night

Posted on April 29, 2025April 29, 2025 by Maria

Good friends get you through the hard times in life and remind you of the fun parts. Having a girls’ night is supposed to be fun, preferably with lots of laughter. But who hasn’t had the experience of getting together with friends but the energy is low? No one has any ideas about what they want to do. Everyone just ends up being mostly on their phone or stuck in their own head. Having a good plan is the best way to keep that from happening. Here are a few of my go to plans for a great night with my girls.

Puzzles and wine

Such a simple, low plan concept that always cheers me up. All you need is a 500+ piece puzzle, some wine glasses, wine, and you’re ready. Of course, you can substitute the wine with whatever you prefer. It’s a nice evening where everybody works together that gives plenty of time for catching up. The evenings can go into reminiscing, sharing joy, joking around, or supporting each other through hard times. When no one feels like talking, you can also just put on a fun show that needs low concentration. Just relax, puzzle and enjoy the company.

Movie night with the girls

Another low plan evening that’s a lot of fun. Just get some snacks, popcorn and drinks, have the girls over, and get ready for a delightful time! The most important part is to pick the right movie for your group.

-Murder mysteries are fun because you can work together to solve it before the reveal.
-Comedies are a classic if you want to turn off your brain and enjoy.
-Chick flicks are, of course, perfect for a night with the girls.

Make sure that you don’t pick a movie someone in the group will dislike. If your friend dislikes an actor or actress, pick a movie without them in it. They will inevitably complain and it will affect everyone. Also, don’t invite a self certifiable “Grinch” to a Christmas movie, the same thing happens. Pick something everyone can enjoy and you will have a great time.

Bring out the crafts for girls’ night

Craft nights are so much fun and there are so many options! I mostly have craft nights to prep for themed events or holidays. We made a drink themed board game for my bachelorette party. Disco dance floor for a disco and cowboys themed birthday, and so much more. It was almost more fun than the events! Of course, a craft night doesn’t need to be a preparation for what comes next. It can be an event in itself. Painting wineglasses, clay crafts, making mood boards e.t.c. can give you and your friends a fun, memorable night with a keepsake.

I highly recommend making bingo cards for the year as well. I did it with my sister and it was difficult, but so much fun. If you want more information on the bingo cards, check out this post.

Board games- a go to for girl’s night

I am a huge fan of board games and I know not everyone feels the same. Still, I truly believe that a night of playing board games is a great idea for any group. It just depends on picking the right games. For a bigger group, I recommend playing games where you can split up in teams. Otherwise, one turn will take way too long. Four player games have the most options, but 2 player games can be so much fun too. My favorite games are Catan and Monopoly. I would love to hear what your favorite board games are! Please comment down below and let me know.

Getting ready for a girls’ night out

Getting together with friends before going out is my favorite part of the night.
-Sharing tips while putting on makeup.
-Helping each other pick an outfit.
-Hyping each other up
-Blasting music and singing along.
These simple things set the mood for the rest of the night. It reminds you of how fun and empowering it can be to be a woman. Especially when you’re surrounded by the women you love.

Cooking together

I don’t really enjoy cooking but.. It’s been a long time since I cooked with friends, and I miss it. When life gets busy, we choose low energy plans. But there is something so nice about having a meal with friends. Me and my best friend always made one of three dishes. It was a homemade pizza, pasta salad, or crepes. Simple and fun. We made a day of it, shopped, cooked, ate and watched a TV show we liked. I’m going to suggest it for the next girls’ night. I recommend you try it too if you haven’t yet. It sounds simple, but it means a lot.

Girls’ night pampering

Time to bring out the facial masks and the nail polish for a fun night of pampering. Show up in your comfy clothes, even pajamas, light the scented candles and turn on the mood music. These types of evenings are perfect for practicing braiding hair. Getting help with coloring your eyebrows. Some even add waxing strips to the evening. It’s like a cheap fun version of going to the beauty salon. Mix in a little gossip session, ask for some life advice, and even throw in a couple of Buzzfeed quizzes. It’s going to be a cozy, memorable evening.

I hope these ideas inspire a fun night. The older I get, the more I see how valuable the women in my life are. I’m really lucky. Still, we can’t forget that we need to work for our friendships. Show your friends love by spending time, hyping up and being there for each other. One way to do that is with a regular girls’ night. Whether it be crafting, watching movies, playing games or just hanging out. It’s always good to plan a head and put in a little work for a great evening together.

That’s all I have for today. If you have questions or just want to chat, contact me or comment below. I’ll be happy to hear from you. Wishing you the best time with your girls. Until next time, Maria.
